Canavi Innovative Log House Construction

Our log home construction begins with standard two-by-six framed wall sections. A 3/8-inch sheet of plywood is applied to the exterior, along with a vapor barrier. Emseal log home tape is used between each log partial and a small bead of caulking is used as a weather-proofing seal.

Carefully selected timbers are hand-cut to the appropriate length for each wall section. Hand-cutting of logs is important in maintaining their natural look. Any internal structural flaws in the log that are discovered in the splitting process are caught, and the log is not used. With a full round home, there is no way to check for internal flaws, which can lead to long term structural issues.

Cut timbers are attached to the exterior of the prepared wall section to reproduce the look and feel of a full round log. With our patent pending process of wall construction, chinking is not needed – avoiding a large maintenance issue that plagues most log homeowners!

Wall sections are erected at our factory and any fine-tuning is done, to facilitate the building process on your lot. With attention to detail at our factory, Canavi Log Homes are built easier and faster on your site to the lock-up stage.

We encourage our homeowners to stop by our factory, if possible, while their home is erected on our site, before it is disassembled for transport to their property.
